I got a phone call from Scott and Sue last night around 10:30 pm. They made it across the lake smoothly. As usual about halfway across the lake the wind went away and the lake became glass-like so they had to motor the rest of the way. The goal was to make South Haven, but ended up going a bit farther north (because this is the point right!) to Lake Macatawa which is close to Holland, Michigan.
The total distance for the day was 80 miles. This is the their longest one day sail yet...ok so it's just day one but still significant.
Stay tuned for frequent updates from me (Scott's Daughter) inbetween the longer posts and pictures from Scott and Sue when they hit internet cafes along the way.
